Big whoop-de-do over on Taylor Avenue

The big groundbreaking for the "internment" memorial drew far fewer people than I had expected. Numbers range for 200 on the low end to 300.

With the People's Republic of Bainbridge Island at about 20,000 and with all the publicity provided by the media a larger turnout was expected.

The comment I'll make on the spectacle is this:

"Like the Sakai Curriculum and the exibit at the Historical Society Museum, this "Internment" Memorial is more accurately a reflection of the people building the memorial rather than a truthful accounting of the history."

Ain't that the truth!
